Orientation Programs

Each academic session of TERI begins with an orientation programme which continues for two days divided into different sessions. TERI welcomes each of the newly admitted students with a sense of warmth in its lush green and serene atmosphere endowed with a building of architectural marvel. The orientation programme begins with the lightning of lamp at the altar of goddess Saraswati and garlanding of her statue by the chief guest of the occasion and the other eminent dignitaries present at the function. At the very outset, the director of the institute greets the newly admitted students with his blessings and exhorts the students to strive for academic excellence, personal values and social concern. The students get a chance to interact with the industrial vanguards and the world class academicians and the trainers invited from the top industrial houses and the institutions of repute. On the very first day itself the students get to know what the industry expect of them and how to proceed to attain the excellence through academic rigor and corporate interface.

 

In the next session the students interact with the faculties of the institute drawn from all areas of specialization with various years of corporate and academic experiences. The teacher and the taught tries to build a synergetic relationship, the relationship they maintain not only through the two years but continue year after year. The third session begins with an interaction of the students with the administrative personnel of the institute. There they deliberate upon the importance of discipline and the soft skills in the making of a manager and entrepreneur par excellence.

 

At TERI the software and hardware aspects of learning ambience is endowed with the best state-of-art technology in library. The library houses more than twenty three thousand books and e-books apart from a documentation centre. The institute owns a well equipped and state-of- art computer laboratory with the latest hardware and software specifications having uninterrupted Wi-Fi / LAN connectivity round the clock. The computer centre administrator and the librarian brief the students about these facilities being provided to them and how they are very much committed to the need of the students round the hour. In the concluding session of the orientation programme the newly admitted students are given the chance to mingle up with the senior students and then they embark upon the journey of learning, re-learning and applying the theory learnt to solve the practical real life problems from the very next day.
